Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an Economist to support causal inference and marketplace measurement across its travel platform. The role collaborates with ML engineers, data scientists, and product leaders to quantify long-term value and guide decisions that balance traveler experience with partner economics.

The position involves building econometric models, designing experiments, and translating findings into clear analyses and visuals for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics or related quantitative field.
• 0-3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong foundation in microeconomic theory and applied econometrics.

Responsibilities

• Build econometric models (panel data, DiD, RDD, IV) to measure elasticity and lifetime value in presence of endogeneity.
• Support long-term impact measurement for customer retention and marketplace equilibrium.
• Design and execute causal measurement frameworks for geo experiments, differences-in-differences, synthetic controls, and IV.
