Rock Valley College invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Faculty position in Economics. The appointment begins Spring 2027 and may involve teaching at the Main Campus, Downtown Campus, and Online.

The department seeks candidates who are committed to student success and scholarly engagement. The successful candidate will teach introductory economics courses, maintain records, participate in assessment activities, and contribute to departmental planning and service.

Qualifications

• Earned Master's Degree in Economics or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Economics.
• Ability and interest in teaching multiple sections of introductory economics courses.
• Commitment to teaching excellence and to diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Meet classes at assigned times.
• Plan course content and assign appropriate course work.
• Maintain student records.
• Evaluate student progress and assign grades.
• Revise course outlines, objectives, and catalog information as needed.
• Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.
• Maintain office hours convenient for students and as required by college policies.
• Prepare course/class reports as required.
• Attend and participate in conferences related to teaching area; membership in appropriate professional organizations is recommended.
• Submit budget requests and written narrative when appropriate.
• Keep abreast of current developments in the profession.
• Participate in department, division meetings and in-service training, etc.
• Participate in assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institution level.
• Assist in short-range and long-range planning.
• Related duties may be assigned.
