Northern Michigan University seeks an Economics Assistant Professor for a three-year term. The candidate will teach Money & Banking, Intermediate Macroeconomics, and Principles of Macroeconomics, with three courses per semester and multiple preparations.

Responsibilities include department, college, and university service, student advising, and engaging in research and conference travel. Doctorate in Economics required; position campus-based and not sponsor eligibility.

Brief Statement of Duties

Brief Statement of Duties: Teach courses in Money andBanking, Intermediate Macroeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics,and be prepared to teach Introduction to Economics and Principlesof Microeconomics. The normal teaching load is three courses (12credit hours) per semester, with up to three different coursepreparations per semester. Additional responsibilities includeservice at the department, college, and university levels, andstudent advising. Resources are available for engaging inprofessional development, research, and conference travel. Thisposition is campus-based and is not currently eligible forsponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education: Doctorate or equivalent terminaldegree

Required Specialized Training/Certifications:

Required Minimum Work Experience: Ph.D. in Economics from anaccredited institution must be completed by August 15, 2027.Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a track record of scholarlyactivity.
