The role is remote and requires a PhD in economics or related field with 3+ years post-PhD experience, strong econometrics skills, and experience with SQL and Python or R. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics or closely related quantitative field required.
• 3+ years post-PhD experience in applied economic research preferred.
• Strong econometrics, microeconomics, and causal inference background.
• Experience with large datasets and statistical programming (Python/R).

Responsibilities

• Design evaluation frameworks for AI in economic domains, including benchmarks and scoring methods.
• Conduct econometric and empirical analyses to improve AI performance.
• Develop datasets and benchmark environments reflecting real-world economic research.
• Collaborate with researchers, economists, engineers, and product teams on economics-focused AI models.
• Analyze model behavior and failure modes to identify research opportunities.
• Apply econometric methods to evaluate AI capabilities on economic tasks.
• Produce technical reports and research findings to advance AI evaluation in economics.
