Job summary

Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas seeks a Research Analyst to support economists in research and policy analysis, focusing on data handling, econometric methods, and publication-ready work for internal and public-facing materials.

Over the two-year program, you will gain experience in data work, writing memos and blog posts, and learning core theoretical frameworks for studying the economy, with opportunities to contribute to pre-FOMC briefings and Board presentations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics with coursework in statistics and econometrics.
• Ability to describe economic trends in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Basic knowledge of economic variables.
• Some familiarity with data sets used by economists.
• Understanding of econometric techniques and interpretation of data.
• Familiarity with writing in econometric or statistical packages such as STATA, R, Python or EVIEWS.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Assist economists in academic research and policy analysis as part of the energy, financial, international, macroeconomics, or regional groups.
• Access, organize, analyze, and visualize data; conduct background analysis.
• Perform statistical and econometric analysis; run econometric/quantitative models.
• Contribute ideas and suggestions for project improvements.
• Assist on other projects and provide backup support to other research analysts.
