Job summary

HDR seeks an Economic Consultant I to join our Plano team. You will work within HDR’s Transportation Business Group to develop economic models, visualize data for client presentations, and collaborate with seasoned economists.

Your role supports quantitative and qualitative analysis across projects in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and strong statistics knowledge, with preference for a Master’s degree and experience in analytical packages or programming

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Solid foundation in statistics and data analysis methods.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows and data tools (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of industry-leading economic modeling practices.
  • Strengthen data visualization through client presentation materials.
  • Collaborate with economists and learn from specialists.
  • Prioritize tasks with supervisor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assess data quality based on primary sources.
  • Gain familiarity with econometrics, forecasting, and data-driven decision support.
  • Gain familiarity with data analyst skills (SQL, data cleaning / wangling, visualization).
  • Support HDR project managers and staff for quantitative/qualitative settings.
  • Perform research and write reports connecting quantitative and qualitative ideas.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
