Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Dallas is seeking an Economic Consultant I to learn and apply industry-leading economic modeling practices. You will also build data visualization materials for client presentations and collaborate with seasoned economists to sharpen analytical skills.

You will work with your supervisor to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment, assess data quality from primary sources, and gain familiarity with econometrics, forecasting, and data-driven decision support tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Background in statistics.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative mindset.
  • Master's degree in economics or related field is preferred.
  • Experience with analytical packages or programming languages listed above.
  • Experience with GIS packages or programming languages listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Develop best practices for economic modeling.
  • Strengthen data visualization for client presentations.
  • Collaborate with experienced economists to learn and specialize.
  • Prioritize tasks with supervisor in a fast-paced setting.
  • Assess data quality based on primary sources.
  • Familiarize with econometrics, forecasting, and data-driven tools.
  • Gain familiarity with data analyst tasks including SQL, cleaning, and visualization.
  • Support HDR project managers and staff as needed.
  • Perform research and write reports linking quantitative and qualitative ideas.
