Job summary

Slate is seeking an Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist in Carson, CA to manage catalog content, maintain Akeneo, and launch products on schedule.

You will collaborate with design, marketing, and product teams to showcase accessories, wraps, and merchandise with consistent storytelling and data-driven decisions. Expect AI-enabled workflows, high-volume data work, and 5–10% travel to Slate offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in ecommerce merchandising, catalog management, or product content operations.
• Experience owning a product category end-to-end with light oversight.
• Hands-on experience in a PIM or CMS (Akeneo preferred).
• Comfort with variant-heavy catalogs: vehicle fitment, colorways, size/color grids.
• Follow SOPs closely and speak up when one needs fixing.
• Attention to detail with high-volume structured data.
• Organized self-starter who meets deadlines and asks questions early.
• Familiarity with Claude AI or Claude Code is a plus.
• Excellent cross-functional communicator.
• Strong in Excel; familiar with Google Analytics and Looker.

Responsibilities

• Execute the merchandising strategy across the ecommerce experience.
• Maintain catalog in Akeneo and flag data gaps.
• Apply field-level standards for titles, attributes, and image specs.
• Collaborate with product managers to gather inputs for launches.
• Own product setup and launch: data entry, assets, SKUs.
• QA English and Spanish content.
• Leverage AI to maximize efficiency across catalog tasks.
• Build/update product pages, collections, and placements for launches.
• Pull and report on product performance data; flag what's working.
• Log site issues and improvement ideas for UX/engineering.
• Travel between Slate offices 5–10%.
