Job summary

Slate Auto is seeking an eCommerce Merchandising Lead to define and execute digital shelf strategy for accessories, wraps, and merchandise. You will craft catalog standards in Akeneo, set the strategy, and later hire a small team as the catalog scales.

You will work across digital, design, marketing, commercial, and product, driving conversion through compelling storytelling, data-driven decisions, and site optimization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 8+ years in ecommerce merchandising or catalog management.
• Experience building a function from scratch and mentoring merchandisers.
• Hands-on experience with Akeneo or similar PIM systems.
• Experience merchandising hard goods and apparel with variant-heavy catalogs.

Responsibilities

• Build the merchandising function from the ground up as a one-person team, then scale.
• Define roles, standards, and hire/mentor the team when approved.
• Own merchandising strategy across the ecommerce experience for storytelling and conversion.
• Audit catalog data in Akeneo and enforce field-level standards for titles, attributes, and images.
• Collaborate with product and marketing to align catalog inputs and avoid silos.
• Perform hands-on product setup and launch work now, then oversee the team.
• QA English and Spanish product content; use AI to improve efficiency.
• Curate product pages and collections with marketing/design for GTM moments.
• Analyze traffic and conversion data to drive site improvements with UX/engineering.
• Travel 5–10% to support teams and projects.
