Job description

Job # 8735 | Columbus, OH — Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) | Contract | W2

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are partnering with a local client in search of an eCommerce Design Specialist for an ongoing full-time W2 contract (benefits, PTO/paid holidays eligible). This is a digital-first, conversion-focused role building the visual content that powers Product Detail Pages, A+/Enhanced Content, and Amazon Brand Stores across retail and direct-to-consumer channels. The team moves fast and needs someone who already lives and breathes eCommerce and can contribute with minimal ramp.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Builds and updates Amazon Brand Stores hands-on using backend widgets and modules, not just design mockups.
  • Designs Product Detail Pages, A+/Enhanced Content, and Brand Stores that compel and convert within specific retailer guidelines and best practices.
  • Produces on-brand eCommerce content that feeds downstream syndication partners across a large product catalog.
  • Makes targeted, product-specific web updates, such as refreshed product renders and product-page changes.
  • Applies eCommerce best practices and PDP anatomy — content hierarchy, above and below the fold, product titles, tiles, carousels, product storytelling, and copy density — to design for a shopper's brief attention window.
  • Right-sizes and edits copy for eCommerce formats, flagging when content is too long for a tile and tailoring it down.
  • Self-initiates work from known priorities without waiting for a full brief, keeping projects moving efficiently.
  • Partners cross-functionally with writers, project managers, content strategists, and the creative studio team.
  • Contributes to a test-and-learn culture, including content A/B testing and faster content refresh cycles.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of professional digital design experience with an advanced understanding of design and visual principles.
  • Hands-on Amazon Brand Store building experience using backend widgets — the single most important qualification for this role.
  • A portfolio demonstrating eCommerce design work, including PDPs, A+/Enhanced Content, and Brand Stores, that shows both craft and conversion results.
  • Fluency in eCommerce terminology and context, able to recognize and articulate best practices rather than simply execute supplied designs, and to work at pace with minimal coaching or hand-holding.
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce UX, visual hierarchy, conversion-focused creative, and digital merchandising principles.
  • Proficiency with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with AEM is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills, with the ability to prioritize, communicate progress, and manage multiple projects with cross-team dependencies and short deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Digital Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or a related field.
BONUS SKILLS
  • 3D modeling and rendering for hero images, such as experience with Esko.
  • Experience with content A/B testing and high-frequency content refresh workflows.
  • Experience working with large product catalogs or multi-brand organizations.
  • Familiarity with retail media and content syndication workflows.
