We are pleased to announce that CCPRS has secured a new 5-year contract for the Public Assistance Technical Assistance Contract V (PA TAC V) in the West zones, including states such as Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, California, Arizona, and others. Through CCPRS, SOL Engineering Services, LLC seeks a technical support assistant for FEMA disaster-related operations nationwide. FEMA utilizes the PA TAC to provide various professional services, including environmental planning, engineering, construction management, project management, and financial analysis, to assist state, local, and municipal entities in developing grant applications for Federal Public Assistance Funding to repair infrastructure damaged by natural disasters.

SOL Engineering Services, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Ecologist with expertise in FEMA Public Assistance programs. The successful candidate will play a leadership role in our disaster recovery team, offering strategic guidance, project management, and technical support to clients recovering from events such as hurricanes and floods. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply ecological expertise to disaster recovery, incorporate environmental considerations into rebuilding efforts, and strengthen community resilience.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Public Assistance (PA) Experience is highly sought after for deployment and is required by FEMA. Candidates must have at least 1 year of deployment experience at the regional, state, or local level.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

1. Master's degree or higher in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related field from an accredited institution, with at least 2 years of professional experience post-degree; or at least 5 years of professional experience in addition to the education requirement for Associate Ecologist.
2. Certified Ecologist (CE) certification is required.
3. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to pass an FBI background check.
4. Strong understanding of FEMA regulations, policies, and guidelines related to Public Assistance programs (e.g., PA Handbook, Stafford Act).
5. Clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.
6. Valid driver's license.
7. Ability to mobilize within 24-48 hours and commit to a minimum 90-day assignment in remote or disaster-affected locations.
8. Ability to work effectively across teams and meet critical deadlines.
9. Physical ability to stand or walk for extended periods on varying terrain.
10. Flexibility to work in different locations as required by FEMA.
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
12. Computer proficiency in document editing, file management, and web applications, with seamless operation across devices.

Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:

• Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Prior experience with FEMA’s PA Program, including roles such as Site Inspector, Program Delivery Manager, Public Assistance Coordinator, or related positions.
• Completed training in Program Delivery Management, Site Inspection, PA Operations, Cost Estimating, Debris Management, and Hazard Mitigation.
