Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Ecologist Intern for Summer 2027 in our Indianapolis, IN office.

You will assist with wetland and stream delineation, prepare delineation reports, and help with state and federal permit applications, primarily in the field with occasional office work. You will learn from mentors, participate in workshops, and develop your professional network through team activities while supporting project teams serving commercial, institutional, and energy

Qualifications

• Open to college students pursuing a Bachelor's in Biological or Environmental Sciences.
• Must be fit for duty to perform field activities in inclement weather/heat.
• Ability to work flexible hours and have an awareness for safety.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in wetland and stream delineation projects.
• Prepare delineation reports.
• Assist with preparing state and federal permit applications.
• Majority of time spent in the field with some office work.
