Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an Ecological Senior Project Manager to lead and grow our Ecological Practice in the Philadelphia, PA office. The role spans wetlands, streams, permitting and endangered species work, with a focus on client service and project delivery.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with ecologists, and help develop business using your network and CEC resources, while delivering high‑quality ecological solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in PA Chapter 105 permitting, 401/404 permitting and reporting, NEPA/FERC, aquatic ecology, and endangered species work.
• Proven client development and management experience across public sector, oil/gas, power, mining, and real estate markets.
• Ability to provide senior technical expertise and mentoring to staff and managers in the ecological practice.

Overview

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking an Ecological Senior Project Manager to lead and help grow our Ecological Practice in our Philadelphia, PA office. Companywide, the Ecological Practice provides approximately 10% of our annual revenues, making it an essential part of the integrated services that we offer to our clients. CEC's Ecological Practice distinguishes itself from the service offerings of other firms because of the breadth of our technical expertise that includes wetland and stream assessments, delineations, and mitigation; Section 401/404 permitting; endangered species surveys, including bats and plants; Endangered Species Act strategy and compliance, ecosystem restoration; wildlife surveys, NEPA document preparation; and habitat assessments. You will also be responsible for developing business for CEC through utilization of your existing network and internal CEC resources. You'll collaborate with staff ecologists and lead projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or related technical field
• 15+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: PA Chapter 105 permitting, Section 401/404 Federal Clean Water Act permitting and reporting, NEPA/FERC, aquatic ecology; threatened and endangered species consultation
• Demonstrated client development and management experience to assist in expanding the delivery of our services to the public sector, oil and gas, power, mining, and real estate markets
• Ability to provide senior technical expertise and mentoring to staff and managers in the ecological practice
• Experience working with state and federal regulators and demonstrated understanding of regulations from agencies such as EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service
