Job summary

The Nature Conservancy seeks a Restoration Crew Member to protect preserve areas and perform ecological restoration across the Oak Openings region. You will help manage land, control invasive species, and conduct native plantings, seed collection, and monitoring while maintaining tools and data with digital apps.

Expect physical work in varied weather, potential long hours, and coordination with volunteers. A valid driver’s license and safety certifications may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with science-related training orland management experience.
• Experience recognizing plant and animal species.
• Experience safely operating equipment (lawn mower, chainsaw, UTV/ATV/OHV, radio).
• Teamwork experience and ability to follow directions.
• Licenses or certifications (First Aid/CPR, pesticide applicator, Firefighter II) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain preserve areas and perform land management activities.
• Control invasive plants and conduct restoration activities (herbicide, removal, brush-cutting).
• Operate heavy machinery and assist in prescribed burns as needed.
• Maintain restoration tools, equipment, and vehicles; manage data via databases and mobile apps.
