Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a seasoned ECMO Specialist RN for night shifts to deliver expert critical care for ECMO patients. You will operate ECMO systems, monitor circuit parameters, and collaborate with physicians, APRNs, and nursing leadership to ensure high-quality care.

Required is a strong background in critical care nursing with ECMO experience and active nursing licensure; ACLS/BLS and NIHSS knowledge are essential, with CCRN preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program with active nursing license.
• Minimum 3 years of critical care nursing experience.
• 2 years of ECMO specialist experience preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS knowledge beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Respond to all ECMO cannulations outside the OR.
• Operate the ECMO device and manage ECMO-related care for patients on ECMO.
• Conduct high-risk rounds and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
• Provide patient/family education and contribute to policy development and training.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and ECMO program governance.
• Maintain competencies per unit standard and escalate safety events as needed.
