Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an experienced ECMO Specialist to provide clinical patient care for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) at Rhode Island Hospital, under the supervision of a licensed physician with ECMO expertise.

You will initiate, modify and wean ECMO therapy, monitor anticoagulation and circuit parameters, participate in bedside rounds, coordinate intra- and inter-hospital transport, and mentor other providers while upholding

Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island Respiratory Therapy license.
• NBRC certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of critical care experience with mechanical ventilation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and performs ECMO therapy as ordered by a licensed provider.
• Monitors anticoagulation and circuit parameters.
• Assists in ECMO initiation and adjustments as needed.
• Participates in bedside rounds and case discussions.
• Coordinates intra- and inter-hospital transport of ECMO patients.
