Job summary

UP Health System Portage is seeking an Echo Sonographer to perform noninvasive cardiovascular studies and related procedures in a full-time capacity. The role includes patient intake, description of procedures, and ensuring patient comfort across all ages using ultrasound imaging.

Ideal candidates will be registered or registry-eligible in diagnostic medical sonography, with formal ultrasound training and a BLS certification. Comprehensive benefits are available as part of the team commitment.

Qualifications

  • Registered sonographer or registry-eligible per ARDMS.
  • High School Education required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Formal training in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform noninvasive diagnostic cardiovascular studies and related clerical duties.
  • Receive patients, explain the procedure and ensure comfort.
  • Provide patient services to all ages using imaging modalities.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies and organize the work area.
  • Keep accurate records, assist with scheduling ultrasound and maintain patient flow.

Days, Varied Shifts, (10 or 12 hr/shifts)

This position has a $10,000 sign on bonus for eligible external employees

How you'll contribute

An Echo sonographer who excels in this role:

  • Perform noninvasive diagnostic cardiovascular studies, as well as the clerical duties associated with the procedures.
  • Receives patients, explains method of procedure and makes sure patients are comfortable
  • Provides patient services to all ages using imaging modalities
  • Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work areas
  • Keeps accurate records, helps with scheduling of the ultrasound and keeps patient flow smooth

What we're looking for
  • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • High School Education required
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers registered, or registry eligibility fulfilled
  • Certifications: BLS required
  • Formal training in Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound required
