Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer responsible for performing echocardiographic examinations and ensuring the proper operation of the echocardiography laboratory. This role involves collaborating with licensed practitioners and educating healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a sonographer or ARDMS/CCI certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct order, patient identification, preparation, and documentation.
• Utilize imaging protocols and optimize technical parameters.
• Prepare and administer medication according to regulations.
• Evaluate image quality and verify archival storage.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers.
• Communicate findings to the licensed provider.
• Collaborate with the licensed practitioner for interventions.
