Job summary

UPMC Western Maryland is seeking an Echocardiography Sonographer to perform cardiac ultrasound imaging with minimal supervision. This full-time, 40-hour/week day shift includes weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations.

A $10,000 sign-on bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment. Responsibilities include performing transthoracic, transesophageal, stress and contrast echocardiography, documenting findings, coding exams, and ensuring high-quality data.

Qualifications

• Formal training in an ultrasound program is required.
• Ability to interact with patients and co-workers in a caring manner.
• Demonstrates independent judgment in performing imaging procedures.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation.
• Review patient history and orders, follow departmental protocols for image data.
• Operate ultrasound equipment to capture optimal image data and documentation.
• Code and document completed exams accurately in the electronic system.
