Job summary

Baptist is seeking a qualified Radiology Sonographer to perform imaging procedures according to radiology practice standards in Memphis. You will aid in diagnosis and treatment by selecting the appropriate technique and positioning.

Responsibilities include planning and implementing procedures, documenting per hospital policies, maintaining equipment and rooms, and participating in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in basic computer tasks and data entry.
• Proof of ARDMS/CCI/RVT registry or new graduate waiting for registry.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Applies radiology principles and uses optimal technique/positioning for accurate procedures.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements plan following hospital protocols.
• Completes required documentation per policies.
• Maintains equipment and rooms in a safe, clean state.
• Participates in quality improvement activities.
• Completes assigned goals.

Job description

Performs imaging procedures/treatments according to radiology practice standards in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of radiologic principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.

Qualifications

Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. Proof of registry (by primary source) must be available within 60 calendar days of graduation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire date.

Special Skills: Basic computer literacy skills.

Licensure: ARDMS/CCI or new graduate who will obtain required registry/certification within 12 months of hire.
