Job summary

Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital is seeking an Echocardiographer II for our Echocardiography department to perform multiple diagnostic echocardiograms and related procedures. You will calculate measurements used in diagnosing and planning treatment for patients with cardiac symptoms.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited cardiac sonographer program, ARDMS or CCI registration and BLS; ACLS preferred. Minimum 3 years of adult echocardiography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonographer program.
• ARDMS or CCI registration as a Cardiac Sonographer and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Preferred: American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Minimum: 3 years of adult echocardiography experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform multiple diagnostic echocardiograms and related procedures.

Calculates measurements to obtain data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with possible cardiac related symptoms.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently.

Education:

• Minimum: Graduate from an accredited cardiac sonographer program.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Minimum: Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Cardiac Sonographer and American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred: American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Technical Requirements:

• Minimum: Operational knowledge of echocardiography and electrocardiographic equipment. Knowledge of basic human anatomy and a thorough knowledge of cardiac anatomy. Knowledge of basic and advanced arrhythmias. Ability to operate computers.

Years of Related Work Experience:

• Preferred: 3 years of adult echocardiography experience.
