Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, CA is seeking an Echocardiography Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging across patient ages, from infant to geriatric.

This full-time, day-shift role includes 12-hour shifts and delivery of quality studies under the Cardiac Cath Lab leadership. The Echo Tech acts as a clinical resource, participates in quality control, and supports patient care and staff education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved echocardiography program or equivalent training.
• ARDMS/RCES or equivalent certification upon hire.
• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging across age groups from infant to geriatric.
• Work under department leadership to deliver quality echocardiography studies.
• Participate in quality control and continuous improvement activities.
• Serve as a clinical resource for less experienced staff.

Description

Echocardiograph Technologist at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, CA. This position is Full time and will work 12-hour, Day shifts.

Under the direction of the Department Director, supervision of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager, the Echo Tech performs clinical diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures and related activities according to department standards for all patients served: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Serves as a customer service representative to patients, their families, the public, and the medical staff. Participates in quality control and organizational improvement activities. Serves as a clinical/technical resource for less experienced sonographers.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of a program in cardiac echocardiography approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation of the American Medical Association or completed equivalent training through self-study, on-the-job training, etc.

• National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon hire or,

• National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International upon hire.

• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Successful completion of national certification examinations in cardiac echocardiography, color doppler and stress testing conducted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers upon hire.

• Experience as a hospital-based Sonographer.
