Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Shreveport, LA, seeks a skilled echocardiography technologist to perform diagnostic echo procedures independently and coordinate with cardiologists. You will ensure quality imaging, assist with transesophageal studies, and participate in stress testing while maintaining core values and patient-centered care.

The role requires BLS certification and preferred ARDMS/CCI credentials, with the ability to respond to cardiology input and support team initiatives across the department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program preferred.
• Two years of cardiology experience preferred.
• Experience with stress testing preferred.
• BLS required.
• ARDMS or CCI certifications (DCS, RCS, RDMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all routine echocardiograms for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease.
• Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Performs stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease.
• Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation and checks weekly for needed supplies.
• Demonstrates competence to meet age-specific patient care needs.
• Adapts assessment and treatment to age/developmental needs of patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Performs stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease.
• Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation. Checks weekly for needed supplies.
• Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
• Appropriately adapts assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate age-specific or other developmental needs of of the patient.
• Demonstrates adherence to the Core values of Christus Healthcare.
• Associate is expected to be certified by ARDMS or CCI within 1 year of hire, but not required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Skills

Experience

• Two years of experience in the cardiology field preferred.
• Experience with stress testing is preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS Required.
