Qualifications

• Echo Technologist IARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; education from accredited institution.
• 1+ year of experience in echocardiography.
• Echo Technologist II/III requires additional credentials and experience.

Responsibilities

• Competently perform diagnostic ultrasound exams and related protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams; coordinate with medical staff and patients.
• Prepare exam by identifying patients, educating on the procedure, transport as needed.
• Document results and ensure patient safety and comfort during exams.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and procedural techniques.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies; maintain equipment and supplies.
