Job summary

CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs seeks a Lead Echo Tech/Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and operate ultrasound equipment for high-quality cardiac imaging while ensuring patient comfort.

This role requires a strong grasp of cardiac anatomy, technical proficiency, and effective communication. The incumbent will train technicians as a preceptor; leadership experience is preferred. Sign-on bonus up to $15,000 and relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cardiac sonography.
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer or equivalent certifications within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures (M-Mode, 2D, color flow Doppler, stress echos, TEE), prep patients, report findings to physicians, and administer IV contrast as directed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot echo equipment, manage supplies, and track procedural logs and productivity.
• Coordinate care across clinics and hospitals, foster teamwork, and serve as a preceptor for training cardiovascular ultrasound technicians.
• Assist with policy updates, participate in capital budgeting, and support outreach program learning opportunities.
• Pursue ongoing education and maintain CME credits (10 CME hours/year or 30 every 3 years).

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Lead Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. You will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data while ensuring patient comfort.

To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

• Perform Diagnostic Procedures: Conduct M-Mode, 2D, color flow Doppler, stress echos, and transesophageal echos (TEE); prepare patients, report significant findings to physicians, and administer IV contrast or pharmaceutical agents as directed.
• Maintain Equipment & Operational Accuracy: Inspect and troubleshoot echo equipment, manage supply efficiency, and accurately track procedural logs, billing charges, and productivity reports.
• Communication & Training: Coordinate care across clinics, hospitals, and outreach services, foster a collaborative team environment, and serve as a preceptor for training cardiovascular ultrasound technicians.
• Administrative & Management Support: Assist with updating policy and procedure manuals, support capital budget development, and provide learning opportunities for outreach programs.
• Professional Development: Participate in continuing education programs and maintain required Continuing Medical Education credits (10 CME hours/year or 30 every 3 years).

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 12 - months or
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, within 12 - months and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
