Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking an Echo Tech/Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and support cardiovascular care.

You will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images, ensure patient comfort, and contribute to a range of echocardiographic studies. The role requires strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, precise technical skills, and excellent communication to deliver accurate diagnostic services in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

  • CPR/BLS required within 14 days of hire.
  • Current registry as Cardiac Sonographer (CCI) or RDCS upon hire.
  • Echo experience in adult and fetal contexts.
  • Associates or health-related certificate preferred with cardiac ultrasound training.

Responsibilities

  • Performs ultrasound diagnostic imaging per departmental protocols.
  • Prepares and maintains ultrasound equipment and room readiness.
  • Maintains equipment logs and routine quality checks.
  • Performs clinical supply inventory.
  • Participates in patient testing including routine, non-routine, urgent and emergent requests.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.

Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies.

To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

  • Performs ultrasound diagnostic imaging on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols
  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning
  • Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance is performed after each procedure
  • Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained
  • Completes all clinical supply inventory
  • Actively Participates with patient testing, performing routine, non‑routine, urgent, and emergent patient requests

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire
Preferred
  • Associates Other or
  • one year certificate from a healthrelated program in a related medical field, which includeseminar course training in cardiac ultrasound

*Pay Range*

$36.51 - $54.31 /hour
