Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Registry eligible as a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer necessary.
• Current CPR certification mandatory.
• Six months experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Patient name and room number consistently recorded on videotape.
• Obtain patient history and complaints accurately before tests.
• Establish rapport and explain test procedures to patients.
• Complete echo worksheets before the end of workday.
• Maintain echo logbook accurately with test times and physicians.

Conocimientos

Competent in the performance of transthoracic echocardiogram

Basic competence in use of personal computer and Windows application

Effective communication with professionals and patients

Good time management

Clinical reasoning, screening and assessment skills

Educación

High school graduate or equivalent

Successful completion of an educational program in diagnostic sonography

At least two-year previous cardiology experience with emphasis on echocardiography
