Job Title: Echo Tech / Registered Cardiac Sonographer - NWOCC Ancillary - Part Time - Days

Category: Radiology

Organizational Unit: ProMedica -> ProMedica Toledo Hospital (TH) -> The Toledo Hospital -> NWOCC Ancillary (7331)

Location: Toledo, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY

Performs cardiac imaging and other non-invasive cardiology procedures as performed by the department.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs cardiac sonographic imaging and all necessary functions required to complete procedure for interpretation.
  • Interacts with providers as necessary for completion of the procedure and to answer questions concerning the performance of the procedure.
  • Performs cardiac stress testing on patients with complete knowledge of different stress protocols and the computerized capabilities of the equipment used to perform the test.
  • Applies and processes holter/event monitors. Knowledge of how to correctly set up and document test.
  • Performs quality assurance data collection and analysis.
  • Serves as a resource for cardiac sonography for other technologists and office/hospital staff.
  • Able to navigate and document in Electronic Medical Record.
  • Weekend rotation in Echo lab at Toledo hospital and additional offsite coverage as needed.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree in cardiovascular technology with clinical course work in cardiac imaging or 2 years’ experience in a non-invasive cardiology lab with a focus in cardiac imaging.

Skills: Must be able to perform a complete echocardiogram using approved protocol, must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer.

License: Must be a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through ARDMS/CCI.

Certification: BLS

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Demands: Must be able to move about department and between workstations. Must be able to differentiate colors, tolerate exposure to blood borne pathogens and body fluids, and operate cardiac ultrasound equipment, controls, machinery, and desk machines. Must be able to frequently move, lift and/or carry medium weight objects and materials.
