Job summary

AdventHealth in Denver, CO is seeking a skilled echocardiography technician to perform accurate and thorough echocardiograms and to operate advanced cardiac imaging equipment. You will work with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care and documentation, with on-call coverage as required.

The role requires BLS and ARDMS/RCDS or equivalent registrations, with experience in TEE, Stress Echo, and Holter monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunctions or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings.
• Independently prioritizes clinical and administrative work and identifies process improvements.
• Processes patient and department records, ensuring documentation of performed tests in accordance with hospital standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and deals with various personality types, ages, and levels of consciousness. Provides on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and facility policy.
• Participates in CQI, in-services, ongoing education, and attends at least 80% of staff meetings to maintain high skill levels.
• Maintains and reviews equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration of machines.
• Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physicians.
• Conducts specialized testing using computer-assisted devices, including TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo, EKGs, Treadmills, and Holter monitors.
• Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient responses by informing the primary healthcare team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
