Job description

Echo Sonographer (Southern Delaware / Delmarva Region) (Finance)

We are looking for a Pediatric Echocardiography Sonographer to join our Nemours Children's Health team. This Echo Sonographer will perform pediatric and fetal echoes.

Primary Function:

Serve as a healthcare professional with the primary responsibility of providing patient-focused echocardiography services and high-quality patient care.

Essential Functions:
  1. Perform pediatric cardiac ultrasound exams (TTE) following protocols according to guidelines set by IAC and the American Society of Echocardiography.
  2. Provide age- and developmentally appropriate care to infants, children, and adolescents.
  3. Assist cardiology fellows and students clinically.
  4. Load images into the Echo PACS system and complete preliminary reports.
  5. Select appropriate procedure codes for billing purposes.
  6. Be available/flexible to provide on-call coverage during weekends, weekday off-hours, and holidays.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited ultrasound training program.
  • Successfully pass the physics and technology exams from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Hold or be eligible for Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification. If eligible, certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
  • Registered ARDMS (PE) or CCI required.
  • ARDMS (FE) registration preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to satellite locations based on patient needs.
