Legacy Health in Oregon seeks an experienced Echocardiography Site Lead to provide advanced imaging and lead a team of sonographers. You will perform a full range of echocardiography studies, mentor staff, and optimize workflows to deliver safe, high-quality care.

The role balances clinical expertise with leadership, with opportunities across pediatric or adult cardiac imaging. Shift availability and employment status will be discussed during interviews with the hiring leader.

Qualificações

  • RDCS or equivalent credential required.
  • Experience in echocardiography across diverse patient populations (neonate to geriatric).
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to place IVs and administer contrast.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and support the team on staffing, workflow, and training; serve as a resource for complex cases and new technologies.
  • Perform full range of echocardiography studies (2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, stress echo, bubble studies).
  • Ensure imaging quality, equipment maintenance, and a safe patient experience.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and management for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Mentor and onboard new staff and share expertise on advanced therapies.

As the Site Lead, you’ll blend your advanced cardiac sonography skills with leadership responsibilities to ensure smooth daily operations at your site. From performing complex echocardiograms to mentoring staff and optimizing workflows, your expertise will help deliver safe, high-quality care while creating a positive environment for patients and colleagues.

You’ll work in either pediatric or adult cardiac imaging, depending on your skills, experience and site needs. This is a funnel posting that represents multiple openings across our system. Shift availability (days, evenings, weekends) and full time or part time options will be discussed with a hiring leader during the interview process to find best fit for you.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
  • Lead & support your team – Coordinate day-to-day staffing, workflow, and training; act as a resource for complex cases and new technologies.
  • Deliver expert imaging care – Perform a full range of echocardiography studies, including 2D/3D, Doppler, TEE, stress echo, bubble studies, and more.
  • Champion quality & safety – Ensure the highest imaging standards, oversee equipment maintenance, and promote a safe, respectful patient experience.
  • Collaborate across teams – Work closely with physicians, nurses, and management to achieve the best outcomes for patients of all ages.
  • Mentor & grow – Onboard and guide new staff, share knowledge on advanced therapies, and help shape the future of cardiac imaging at Legacy.
What You Bring
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent
  • Expertise in echocardiography for a wide range of patient populations (neonate to geriatric)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills—you’re approachable, solution-oriented, and a natural collaborator
  • Ability to place IVs, administer contrast, and manage emergent situations
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth
Qualifications
Education:
  • Completion of accredited cardiac sonography or echocardiography certificate program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification.
Skills:
  • Cardiac sonographers conduct transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms to evaluate heart function and structure in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Strong understanding of ultrasound technology and cardiac anatomy is essential.
  • Maintain operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment to obtain high quality images of the heart.
  • Assessment of images for clarity and relevance, selecting the most appropriate ones
  • for physician review.
  • Document and preparation of preliminary reports highlighting key observations for cardiologists.
  • Able to explain procedures clearly and interact effectively with patients and the healthcare team.
  • May assist in clinical research and training of new staff or students.
  • Technical proficiency and ability to navigate electronic health systems applicable to job functions.
Licensure
  • The current state license in Sonography is required for all employees who perform this job in the state(s) of practice. In Oregon, Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) license to practice is mandatory.
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credentials are required at the time of hire.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.

Pay Range

USD $54.20 - USD $77.51 /Hr.
