Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Martin Health in Stuart, FL, is seeking an Echo Laboratory Workleader to lead the Cardiovascular Imaging Lab operations, supervise staff, and ensure quality assurance across echo, Doppler, Color Doppler and 3D exams. The role includes coordinating education on new equipment and technology such as stress echo and dobutamine, and mentoring fellows and visiting physicians.

You will float between Martin North, Martin South, Tradition, St.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a two-year Cardiovascular Technologist program.
• Three years of experience in cardiac ultrasound.
• Registered RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI) current status.
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, implementation and evaluation of existing or proposed modalities.
• Serve as a resource to Cardiovascular Imaging Sonographers and Supervisor in resolving discrepancies or problems related to quality assurance.
• Monitor the patient care aspects of quality assurance.
• Attend meetings to support research and educational growth and awareness.
• Facilitate monthly teaching sessions and journal clubs.
• Work with vendors for ongoing on-site teaching sessions.
• Improve image acquisition and quality in collaboration with staff.
• Act as liaison to schools and mentor rotating students.

As an Echo LaboratoryWorkleader, you will function as a primary technical resource for the Cardiovascular Imaging Lab andassistwithday-to-dayoperations. You will direct and coordinate all aspects of the Cardiovascular Imaging Lab Quality Assurance Programs as well as overseevisiting physicians,sonographersand fellowsand coordinate and direct continuing education training on new equipment and technology including stress echo and dobutamine. A caregiver in this position worksdays from 8:30AM – 5:00PM, including rotatingweekends and holidays and on-call requirements.

Floating between Martin North, Martin South, Tradition, St. LucieWestand Stuart Family Health Center will berequired, as needed.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Assistin the design,implementationand evaluation of existing or proposed modalities.

• Work individually with staff to improve image acquisition and quality.

• Act asliaisonto schools and mentor students that rotate through the lab for training.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from a two-year Cardiovascular Technologist Program

• Three years of experience in cardiac ultrasound

• Active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) registry status from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Vascular AND Echo Technologist

Physical Requirements:

• Essential Duties: Interact with patients, family’s physicians and other health care workers. Good hand coordination for positioning of probe and equipment. Good vision to analyze computer screens and VCR recordings to diagnose test results.

• Physical Duties: Moderate lifting and positioning of patients. Moderate pushing and pulling of equipment. Working Conditions: 100% air conditioned. Moderate risk of exposure to blood or airborne pathogens.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
