Job summary

Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK is hiring an EKG Technician to perform electrocardiographic exams, stress testing via exercise and pharmacologic methods, and ECG data transcription under supervision. The role includes documenting patient information, assisting with transfers in electronic records, and supporting billing accuracy.

The position is full-time at 0.9 FTE with variable shifts, including mid-shift with potential night shift, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• 1 year bedside patient care experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience in operating standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrocardiographic exams using various ECG equipment and procedures.
• Perform stress testing via exercise and pharmacologic modalities.
• Transcribe all dictated ECG interpretations.
• Maintain patient information/billing logs and electronic databases.
• Assist ECG Dept supervisor with transfers/merges within the electronic storage database and data abstraction for ICD10 coding.
