Job summary

WVU Health System—Heart and Vascular Imaging Services is seeking an ECG Technician to perform ECG procedures and support clerical duties to ensure smooth documentation flow. The role emphasizes accurate lead placement, patient instruction, and timely test completion in a hospital setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days of hire, with non-exempt, on-site work in Morgantown, WV. Experience with Holter monitoring is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform ECG procedures accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform all ECG procedures in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist with clerical duties to ensure proper document flow.
• Acquire 12-lead ECG tracings and rhythm strips.
• Place leads correctly based on cardiothoracic anatomy.
• Coordinate outpatient testing with inpatient demands.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Complete forms and document results per policy.
• Prepare patient skin for optimal recording.
• Handle holter monitor setup and removal as directed.
