Qualifications

• Requires BLS Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
• High school diploma or GED required
• 1 year EKG experience preferred
• Use and comprehend basic computer applications and diagnose common EKG equipment problems

Responsibilities

• Verify patient name armband against order requisition
• Apply electrodes and prepare chest area for high-quality tracings
• Perform, transmit, and process EKGs
• Conduct Holter monitoring: apply, advise diary, and interpret transmissions
• Conduct Event Monitor procedures: apply, receive post-event transmissions
• Maintain or arrange equipment and notify supervisor of malfunctions or supply needs
• Participate in cross-training and orient new staff
