Job summary

YMCA of Greater Seattle is hiring a full-time Early Education Teacher for the ECEAP classroom in Bellevue. You will work alongside the Lead Teacher to implement engaging activities and supervise groups of children, following state and program requirements.

We offer a supportive leadership team, strong resources, and opportunities to grow in a nurturing environment. Typical shift is Monday–Friday, with hours 6:45am–6:15pm; compensation includes PTO, program discounts, and membership benefits.

Qualifications

• CDA credential required or in progress.
• Experience working with children in the Early Childhood Education setting.
• Completion of minimum STARS-required training.
• Cleared Portable Background Check in the MERIT statewide registry.
• Knowledge of culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Pre-employment TB tests and MMR vaccination required; Concentra offered at no cost.
• Training to be completed at hire or within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities with the curriculum.
• Coordinate activities to fit children's developmental needs.
• Supervise groups of children to ensure health and safety.
• Complete observations with the Lead Teacher for assessments.
• Communicate with families and attend conferences as needed.
• Maintain daily activity records and family information notes.
• Follow YMCA policies and emergency procedures.
• Assist Lead Teacher and cover during absences.
• Maintain classroom organization, appearance, and learning environment.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
