Job summary

Bellevue Children's Academy seeks a Director of Early Childhood Education to oversee Preschool, Transition Pre-K, and Pre-K programs. You will ensure instructional alignment with IB PYP, supervise staff, and maintain WA licensing compliance across ECE classrooms.

You will partner with senior leaders to drive enrollment strategy and transitions to Kindergarten, manage the ECE budget, and maintain strong family relations while safeguarding children's safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in early childhood education, including at least 2 years in leadership.
• Working knowledge of WA DCYF licensing regulations and MERIT.
• Experience with IB PYP or similar inquiry-based curriculum preferred.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and evaluating staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership across PS, TPK, and PK classrooms aligned with IB PYP and a play-based philosophy.
• Serve as primary contact for WA DCYF licensing, maintaining MERIT compliance and health/safety docs.
• Recruit, hire, coach, and evaluate Early Childhood teaching staff.
• Own classroom staffing and substitute coverage; coordinate with HR on leaves and vacancies.
• Partner on enrollment strategy and PreK-to-K transitions; support program growth.
• Manage the Early Childhood program budget, supplies, and materials.
• Build strong relationships with ECE families and address program concerns.
• Conduct Learning Visits to ensure licensing standards and curriculum fidelity.
• Represent ECE in community/outreach settings and with local ECE partners.
• Participate in leadership team meetings and contribute to school-wide planning.
