Job summary

Palatine Park District seeks an Edgebrook Community Center Site Director to lead after-school programming for up to 25 students. The role involves coordinating academic enrichment, activities, and safe recreational opportunities from 4:15 pm to 7:15 pm, while collaborating with staff and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have youth experience, be punctual, organized, and bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to stay engaged and lead by example in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience working with youth.

• Able to work with staff, volunteers, and professionals in the community.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of handling emergencies and document accordingly.
• Willingness to stay engaged for the duration of the program.
• Bilingual English & Spanish required.

Responsibilities

• Inspire up to 25 students through tutoring, activities, and recreation.
• Work with multiple staff and volunteers to implement program activities.
• Maintain safety and orderly conduct during program hours.

Job description

Edgebrook Community Center (ECC) Site Director

The Edgebrook Community Center program provides academic enrichment and structures activities in a safe after school environment. Staff will inspire up to 25 students through engaging academic tutoring, enriching activities, and fun recreational opportunities. Children attending will be bused from local elementary schools in District 15, these young learners will embark on a journey of growth and discovery. The program runs 12-15 hours per week, from 4:15 pm to 7:15 pm, fostering a vibrant and supportive environment for all.

Minimum Requirements

• Must have experience working with youth, punctual, friendly, organized, well-spoken, must be willing to take the initiative and lead by example
• Must be able to work with a variety of staff, volunteers and professionals within the community
• Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be capable of handling emergency situations and document accordingly, willingness to stay engaged throughout the duration of program, ability to build healthy relationships within community with children and families
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) required
