An international couple is seeking a reliable and discreet French-speaking Housekeeper/Property Caretaker for their pied-à-terre on the Upper East Side. The apartment is located in a secure building with a doorman and elevator attendant.
The position guarantees a minimum of 5 hours of pay per week. When the principals are away, the schedule is flexible and the apartment will generally need to be checked once every two weeks. The individual will air out and refresh the apartment, perform light housekeeping, inspect for maintenance concerns, and confirm that essential household systems are working properly. This may include checking the Wi-Fi connection, appliances, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and any batteries that require replacement. They will ensure the home remains secure, fully operational, and ready for the principals arrival.
The couple visits New York approximately three to four times per year, typically for 7-10 days at a time. During these visits, the Housekeeper/Property Caretaker will work approximately 5 hours per day, preparing and maintaining the residence, providing daily housekeeping, running errands, and assisting with general domestic needs.
The ideal candidate is observant, proactive, organized, and able to communicate any concerns promptly.
