Reports To: School Principal and EC Administrators

Salary Grade: According to placement on Teacher Salary Schedule

Work Location: School

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: 10 Month

Position Summary

The EC Transition Facilitator identifies, interprets, task analyzes, and provides on-the-job training skills needed for selected job sites for handicapped students.

Responsibilities
  1. Provides students with the training and employability skills needed to perform job tasks.
  2. Establishes and maintains rapport with the business community to secure job sites.
  3. Maintains ongoing communication with school staff and parents regarding student progress.
  4. Conducts a task analysis of job sites.
  5. Evaluates student performances regularly.
  6. Interacts with community agencies to coordinate transition services for students.
  7. Facilitates the transition of students from job training to permanent employment.
  8. Coordinates curriculum and instruction needs related to the job site.
  9. Participates in IEP Committee Meetings as appropriate.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Certification or eligibility for certification in an area of exceptionality.
  • Certification or eligibility for certification in Vocational Education (Handicapped/Disadvantaged).
  • Prior experience as a job coach.
  • Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.
Physical Requirements

Ability to perform essential job functions safely and successfully, in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, including meeting productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance, consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards.
