Qualifications

• Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
• Working knowledge of core subjects at the appropriate age/grade.
• General knowledge of school organization and community.
• General knowledge of expected behavior based on age.
• Ability to follow written/oral instructions with minimal supervision.
• Ability to record and store data accurately.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher to achieve instructional objectives.
• Work with individuals/small groups as assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with behavior modifications as requested.
• Assist students with personal care tasks.
• Escort students as directed by the teacher or administrator.
• Monitor students to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Prepare materials and support activities in Pre-K settings.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in staff development.
