Here's what you'll be doing

Location: Kemsley

Our Kemsley CHP Maintenance Team, part of EON UK's Generation B2B section, are looking for a Multi Skilled, EC&I Engineering Technician to support a state of the art New Build CHP plant delivering 24/7 Steam and Electricity to our customer DS Smith.

Within this role, you won’t only undertake key maintenance activities in accordance with E.ON’s established systems, but you’ll also contribute to the maintenance plan by providing key insights and reports.

You will use your skills and experience to support the Maintenance Coordinator, by completing maintenance through a balance of hands-on activities and managing appropriate resources, primarily for electrical and C&I issues, but may include some mechanical and other support when required. This will include fault diagnosis and rectification in the event of unplanned breakdown to bring plant back on line safely with the minimum of down time. You will support the planning and co-ordination of site outages as well as day to day planned maintenance activities. You will identify and procure strategic spares and contract services as well as being responsible for your own contracts and contractors.

Main responsibilities:

  • Scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure efficient use of resources and maximise opportunities for maintenance when the plant is on a planned outage.
  • Deliver maintenance of plant to meet and exceed business KPI’s.
  • Assist the site in maintaining the highest levels of compliance with statutory legislation and company standards and compliance targets.
  • Deliver and support analysis of plant issues, providing expert technical advice to the Maintenance Coordinator to assist in the decision-making process.
  • Contract and contractor management, monitoring safety and progress against agreed targets.
  • Support the identification and implementation of improvements to all areas that affect plant performance
What we need from you
  • HNC / ONC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience in power generation or similar industry required.
  • Experience of managing contractors to ensure activities can be carried out safely and on time
  • Flexible approach, being able to support out of normal hours on occasions
  • Ability to work within a team as well as individually

It would be great if you had

  • NEBOSH or IOSH Certificate.
