Job summary

Johnston County Public Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant/Bus Driver for Princeton Elementary in Princeton, North Carolina. This 9-month, full-time position starts immediately and will support classroom activities and bus transportation needs.

The ideal candidate will meet Highly Qualified status with a high school diploma or equivalent, or complete the Pathways TA program with WorkKeys, and demonstrate the ability to work with children and follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Highly Qualified status per NC rules: degree, coursework, or TA Pathways with WorkKeys.
• Ability to deal with children and follow detailed written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Gives academic assistance and provides individualized instruction.
• Prepares materials and organizes classroom furnishings and equipment.
• Proctors tests, scores papers, and distributes/collects instructional materials.
• Monitors student behavior and reinforces positive conduct.
• Promotes student self-esteem and citizenship.
• Operates bus driver/sub bus driver duties as assigned and maintains safety.
