Responsibilities

  • Chemcial processing: Executing production runs to coat high‑pressure turbine blades, including grit blast, ultrasonic cleaning, high‑temperature burnout furnaces, and other coating operations.
  • Production support: Assisting in the overall production of parts, involving blending surfaces, mixing materials, and using hand tools or machinery.
  • Equipment operation: Setting up, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on furnaces, coating equipment, sandblasting units, and other manufacturing machinery; cleaning of equipment.
  • Quality assurance: Ensuring work meets production specifications and quality control standards with proper documentation and logs.
  • Safety and compliance: Following safety protocols, wearing PPE, and adhering to environmental regulations for chemical use and waste disposal.
  • Continuous improvement: Embracing lean principles and other improvement initiatives within the department.

Job Summary

A Chemical Process Operator at Chromalloy performs chemical and mechanical processes, often involving coatings, to manufacture critical turbine engine components. The duties performed are consistent across Chromalloy sites and include coating high‑pressure turbine blades, supporting overall production, operating machinery, ensuring quality, and adhering to safety and environmental standards.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Chemical processing: Executing production runs to coat high‑pressure turbine blades, including grit blast, ultrasonic cleaning, high‑temperature burnout furnaces, and other coating operations.
  • Production support: Assisting in the overall production of parts, which can involve blending surfaces, mixing production materials, and using hand tools or machinery.
  • Equipment operation: Setting up, operating, and performing preventative maintenance on furnaces, coating equipment, sandblasting units, and other manufacturing machinery; performing periodic cleaning of equipment.
  • Quality assurance: Confirming that all work meets production specifications and quality control standards through accurate process logs, travelers, and other documentation for traceability.
  • Safety and compliance: Strictly following all safety protocols, wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), and adhering to environmental regulations for chemical use and waste disposal.
  • Continuous improvement: Embracing and implementing lean principles and other continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Compensation and Work Hours

This position may require work outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non‑exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws. The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels; individual compensation within the range is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, job‑related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
