Job summary

Materion is seeking an EBW Machine Operator to support production goals by setting up the Electron Beam Weld equipment, ensuring quality and capturing data in SAP. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of manufacturing experience, with metals industry exposure preferred, and familiarity with micrometers and precision

• Read EBW orders, blueprints and annealing schedule for setup and workflow.
• Manipulate controls and observe indicators to regulate speeds.
• Feed material through EBW machine and manage automatic feeding mechanisms.
• Enter data into SAP system.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Electron Beam Weld (EBW) Machine Operator is key in assisting with meeting the department’s goals by performing machine set‑up, maintaining quality standards, meeting daily production targets, and troubleshooting equipment when required.

Responsibilities

• The EBW Machine Operator is responsible for coil handling, which involves removing coils from skids, loading coils to the payoff, and measuring gauge and width of the material with measuring devices.
• This position sets up the designated EBW machine, including interpreting process sheets, setting machine parameters, and using lubrication.
• Responsible for operating the machine while adhering to quality parameters and in‑process checks.
• Monitors machine cycles and milling operation to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications.
• Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read EBW orders, blueprints, and annealing schedule to determine setup specifications, work sequences, product dimensions, and installation procedures.
• Manipulate controls and observe dial indicators to monitor, adjust, and regulate speeds of machine mechanisms.
• Thread or feed material through the EBW machine or start and control mechanisms that automatically feed metal into the machine.
• Performs data entry into the SAP software system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1‑3 years of previous manufacturing experience required.
• Experience in a metals industry preferred.
• Experience in use of micrometers and other precision measurement tools.
• Previous EB Weld machine operation preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, manuals, and technical procedures.

Pay: $24.20 – $34.80 USD Hourly. *The hourly pay range listed is a guide for this position and may vary depending on experience, education, geographic location, and other qualifications. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's individual merits and the company's compensation policies.
