Heritage Oaks Hospital, part of the UHS Family of Providers in Northern California, invites a licensed therapist to join the Branches Outpatient team specializing in eating disorders. The role includes leading educational and family sessions, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to address the whole person's needs.

Requirements include a Master’s in Social Work or MFT, California LCSW/LMFT, CPR, and the ability to supervise interns; 1–2 years

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree from an accredited program in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.
• Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (LCSW/LMFT).
• Two years of experience in eating disorders preferred; minimum one year.
• CPR required; Handle With Care training within 30 days of employment.
• Psychiatric health care facility experience preferred; strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Form educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups.
• Assess, diagnose, and treat Branches Outpatient clients with eating disorders and comorbidities.

Heritage Oaks Hospital - Branches Outpatient department is looking for a Therapist that specializes in eating disorders to join our team! The therapist is a master’s level professional therapist (LCSW/LMFT) who assesses, diagnoses, and treats Branches Outpatient clients struggling with an eating disorder and its comorbidities. Using evidence‑based talk therapies, they develop individualized treatment plans, conduct individual and family sessions, and plan and lead group sessions. The Therapist serves as each admitted patient’s treatment team leader, collaborating with providers of other disciplines and departments to treat the whole person. They are also able to provide supervision for associate level therapists and master student interns.

• Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, health care team members and community providers regarding patient status and progress.
• Interact and communicate with community agencies in assessment of and service to patients.
• Provide liaison and referral services to community agencies and appears in court when requested or subpoenaed.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy, or related discipline.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience preferred in eating disorders, minimum of one (1) years of experience required. Preferred experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills.

License: Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences required (LCSW/LMFT)

Additional Requirements: CPR required. Handle With Care training within 30 days of employment and prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. Must be able to pass a department competency exam upon hire. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime.
