Job summary

Young Mens Christian Association Of The Chesapeake at Easton Family YMCA in Easton, MD is seeking a part-time Wellness Assistant to support wellness programs, coordinate activities, perform fitness assessments, and assist with personal training assignments and events.

You will orient new staff, help maintain a clean and safe fitness area, and guide members in proper warm-up, stretching, and exercise technique. Must be 18+, HS diploma, YMCA certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 90 days of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in wellness programs, including coordinating programs, fitness assessments, personal training assignments, equipment orientations, member orientation and special events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Orients new wellness staff and provides guidance and clarification of work duties and assignments.
• Ensure cleanliness of fitness center through daily cleaning checklist and equipment maintenance plan.
• Instructs members and participants on safe exercise techniques including but not limited to warm-up and stretching progression, aerobic conditioning, strength training, proper use of center equipment and workout routine.

Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age or older. High school graduate or equivalent required.

YMCA Healthy Lifestyles certification within 90 days of hire

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
