The East YMCA of Dane County is looking for evening group fitness dance instructors. Certified styles such as WERQ and Zumba are welcome. Bring your energy to share with our members! Be part of the larger community picture—build lasting relationships with staff and members, promote health and safety in fitness programming to support total wellness.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality, safe, and motivating instruction based on certified dance formats; provide adaptations based on individual needs.
  • Increase member retention by providing personalized member experiences and building positive relationships with members, staff, volunteers, and guests. Create a supportive and uplifting community environment.
  • Facilitate the development of small communities, helping members connect with each other.
  • Ensure the safety of all members and guests.
  • Support fellow instructors by subbing where possible.
  • Utilize our fitness instructor app for information hub, sub requests, attendance tracking, etc.
  • Work within class parameters of in-person, virtual, and outdoor sessions.
  • Communicate effectively with members, coworkers, and supervisors.
  • Complete required facility training programs as needed.
Position Skills and Experience
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Current Group Fitness Dance certification required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including weekday evenings, is preferred.
