Summary: The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee responsible for the operation and supervision of a theatre and its staff, acting as a representative of Regal in alignment with our mission and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Consistent attendance.
  • Upholding theatre policies.
  • Training, coaching, supervising non-management employees.
  • Performing staff roles as required.
  • Operating projection and audio-visual equipment, including maintenance and system knowledge.
  • Ensuring alcohol certification if applicable.
  • Monitoring safety, loss prevention, and handling emergencies.
  • Managing receipts, deposits, and reconciliations.
  • Adhering to dress code policies.
  • Completing or progressing in management certification programs.
  • Understanding and reviewing ROM.
  • Participating in hiring, scheduling, coaching, and employee management with oversight.
  • Controlling costs and managing inventory and supplies.
  • Supervising maintenance and repairs.
  • Marketing and scheduling film showings.
  • Reading and understanding training materials on topics like harassment and discrimination.

Additional Duties: As assigned by the GM or senior management.

Qualifications

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily; reasonable accommodations provided for disabilities.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent; at least 3 months supervisory or 6 months theatre experience with Cast Certification; or demonstrated leadership potential subject to approval.

For theatres selling alcohol: must be of legal age, complete required training, and obtain certification.

Language Ability:

Good public speaking skills; effective oral and written communication; active listening.

Math Ability:

Accurate calculations and error correction.

Reasoning Ability:

Problem-solving skills; data analysis; decision-making under pressure.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with PC, email, word processing, spreadsheets, and office equipment.

Personal Skills:

Effective customer and team interaction; goal setting; time management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Direct supervision of staff, including training, performance appraisals, and discipline, under policies and laws.

Physical Demands:

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching; occasional climbing, stooping, lifting up to 60 lbs.; vision requirements.
