Knife River Corporation in North Dakota is seeking a Grading Operations Manager to oversee labor, productivity, quality control and safety within the Operations Department. You will ensure safe and efficient operations, manage budgets, and drive process improvements across multiple sites with a focus on regulatory compliance and strong leadership.

The role requires 5+ years in civil construction, a Bachelor's degree, and a North Dakota driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in the civil construction industry.
• Valid North Dakota driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review bid requirements and prepare estimates and proposals.
• Determine labor, equipment and material needs for projects.
• Coordinate resources across the state for efficiency.
• Monitor maintenance and repairs of grading equipment.
• Develop yearly capital expenditure budgets.
• Submit bid proposals to owners and GC's with timely clarifications.
• Provide pricing assistance and professional service to customers.
• Oversee project objectives with Central Dispatch and supervise staff.
• Support operations; set expectations and review contributions.
• Implement policies, procedures and systems with management.
• Review invoices and ensure timely payment processing.
• Address customer issues and improve the customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with WIP procedures, revenue and cost reviews.
• Oversee job billing and project closeout activities.
• Communicate policies and issues in department meetings.
• Troubleshoot production issues and coordinate with GM.
• Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR safety regulations compliance.
• Work overtime including nights and weekends as needed.
• Always work safely and wear PPE as policy.
• Attend required shifts consistently and perform other duties.
